Basic information

Biomarker: CDC20

Histology type: endometrial carcinoma

Stage: advanced stage

Cohort characteristics

Country: Egypt

Region: El-Minia

Followed up time :

Total number Group I Group I number Group II Group II number Group III Group III number Group IV Group IV number
655 malignant tumors 475 normal/non-neoplastic tissues 180 Endometrium cacner 15

Sample information

Conclusion: CDC20 expression may be useful as a biomarker of tumor prognosis and as a therapeutic target of human cancer.

Sample type : tissue

Sample method: immunohistochemistry

Expression pattern : overexpression(>cutoff )

Expression elevation: The percent of positive cells was scored as 0=≤10 %, 1=>10 to ≤25 %, 2=>25 to ≤50 %, 3=>50 to≤75 %, and 4=>75 %. The intensity of staining was scored as 0=negative, 1=weak, 2=moderate, and 3=strong. The two scores were then multiplied to calculate the final score. The cutoff points for CDC20 immunostaining were the median of CDC20 expression in each normal/non-neoplastic tissue. CDC20 expression was considered negative/low and high expression according to these cutoff points.

Funtion Uniprot: Required for full ubiquitin ligase activity of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) and may confer substrate specificity upon the complex. Is regulated by MAD2L1: in metaphase the MAD2L1-CDC20-APC/C ternary complex is inactive and in anaphase the CDC20-APC/C binary complex is active in degrading substrates. The CDC20-APC/C complex positively regulates the formation of synaptic vesicle clustering at active zone to the presynaptic membrane in postmitotic neurons. CDC20-APC/C-induced degradation of NEUROD2 induces presynaptic differentiation.
