Sample information

Conclusion: In conclusion, we found that the two proteins follow the same expression pattern and that their co-expression is strongly correlated with poor prognosis and short survival.

Sample type : tissue

Sample method: immunohistochemistry

Expression pattern : co-expression of galectin-3 and CRIP-1

Expression elevation: The average labeling index of GAL-3 and CRIP-1 was assessed according to the proportion of positive cells, after scanning the entire section of the specimen. Sections were graded as negative (0) for <10 % of stained cells, low (1) for 10–30 % of stained cells, moderate (2) for 30–70 % of stained cells and high (3) for >70 % of stained cells. Staining intensity was equal between different samples and areas of the tissue sections, and therefore, it was not included in the scoring
