Basic information

Biomarker: Nup88

Histology type: benign tumor

Stage: early stage

Cohort characteristics

Country: China

Region: Hebei

Study type: retrospective study

Subgroup 1 name : negative

Subgroup 1 number: 14

Subgroup 2 name: positive

Subgroup 2 number: 36

Sample information

Conclusion: Nup88 may be related to the occurrence of endometrial cancers and premalignant lesions. Nup88 might be a useful biomarker for pre-malignant lesions and early-stage endometrial cancer.

Sample type : tissue

Sample method: immunohistochemistry

Expression pattern : expression

Expression elevation: The intensity of the staining was graded as 0 for negative, 1 for weak, 2 for moderate, or 3 for strong. The percentage of stained cells was classified as 0 for <5% staining, 1 for 6–25%, 2 for 26–50%, and 3 for >50%. The final score was defined as the sum of the staining intensity and the percentage in each case, i.e. 0–6 points. In the statistical analysis,0–2 points were considered as negative and ≥3 points as positive.

Phenotype ID: 618393

Disease: Fetal akinesia deformation sequence 4 (FADS4)

Note1: The disease is caused by variants affecting the gene represented in this entry. Disease mechanism likely includes impaired formation of the neuromuscular junction. NUP88 silencing in vitro results in reduced levels of rapsyn, a key player in clustering of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) at the neuromuscular junction. Decreased rapsyn levels have also been observed in a patient muscle biopsy
