Funtion description: To determine whether the methylation of GABPA results in its suppression, we analyzed the relationship between the gene methylation level and mRNA expression of GABPA in ECs using TCGA. The results demonstrate that GABPA mRNA expression is negatively correlated with its gene methylation level (R = −0.2512, P < 0.001). Moreover, we identified one methylated CpG at cg21890848 of GABPA gene played a predominant role in its silence (R = −0.2506, P < 0.001) (Figure 7(b)). Above results indicated that aberrant methylation is one of the major mechanisms for the silencing of the GABPA gene.
